Sustainability is at the heart of campus life, shaping choices and daily practices. Both staff and students engage in training that develops knowledge, practical skills, and eco-conscious habits. Programs focus on energy and water management, waste reduction, sustainable mobility, and responsible resource use. Through interactive modules and workshops, participants are empowered to act, fostering a culture of responsibility, innovation, and a greener campus.
An online sustainability training module has been developed at An-Najah National University to ensure that all staff members have the knowledge and skills needed to contribute to a positive environmental impact. The module explains how daily work activities can influence environmental and energy performance, highlights the role of staff in managing these impacts, and emphasizes the importance of adopting sustainable practices within the University.
This training is mandatory for all staff members. It is first completed as part of the orientation and induction program when new employees join the University and must be repeated every three years to maintain awareness and update knowledge. In addition, the University organizes regular induction sessions for new staff, which include a short presentation on sustainability initiatives at the University, allowing participants to ask questions and share ideas to further strengthen sustainability practices on campus.
