Office In Brief

The Sustainability Development Office at An-Najah National University (ANNU) is the central hub for advancing sustainability in operations, academics, research, and community engagement. Reporting directly to the University President, the office reflects ANNU’s commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the three pillars of sustainability: environmental, social, and economic. Its mission is to engage students, staff, and stakeholders in transforming ANNU into a leading model of sustainability locally and globally.

 Vision:

To position the Sustainable Development Office at An-Najah National University as a leading model locally and regionally in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, through innovation, strategic partnerships, and empowering students and faculty members to make a lasting positive impact on society and the environment.                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Mission:

We are committed to empowering the community of An-Najah National University to achieve sustainable development through education, scientific research, and practical initiatives that integrate sustainability into academic and community life, while fostering a culture of innovation and environmental and social responsibility.

Our Goals and Objectives:


• To raise awareness of sustainability principles and practices within the University and the wider community.

• To support scientific research and innovative initiatives that contribute to sustainable development.

• To monitor and evaluate performance indicators in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

• To provide advanced training opportunities and specialized consultancy in sustainability and green building practices.

• To foster social mobility and knowledge dissemination through seminars, workshops, and scholarly exchange.

• To cultivate strategic partnerships at the national and international levels in the field of sustainability.

Sustainable Development Office

An-Najah National University, in partnership with the Union of Mediterranean Universities (UNIMED) and the Palestinian Student Scholarship Fund, has launched the Technical Education Support for Higher Education Students (TESI) in February 2024.
