An-Najah National University maintains a comprehensive sustainability governance framework supported by dedicated full-time sustainability staff within its Sustainability Office. This core team is responsible for strategy implementation, performance monitoring, rankings reporting, and stakeholder engagement. The structure is further strengthened by Faculty SDG Officers embedded across all academic units to ensure decentralized implementation, as well as Sustainability Research Centers that drive interdisciplinary research and innovation aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This integrated model ensures effective coordination between governance, operations, academic activities, and research.

SUSTAINABILITY STEERING COMMITTEE

The Sustainability Steering Committee brings together senior academic leaders, sustainability experts, and faculty representatives to provide strategic oversight of all sustainability initiatives. It ensures sustainability is embedded across teaching, research, operations, and community engagement, tracks progress on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and fosters a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement across the University.

SUSTAINABILITY OFFICE

The Sustainability Office at An-Najah National University serves as the central hub for planning, coordinating, and monitoring all sustainability-related efforts across the University. Operating under the direction of senior leadership, the Office ensures alignment with the University’s institutional strategy and international sustainability frameworks.
As the main body responsible for advancing sustainability across all aspects of the University, the Sustainability Office leads the integration of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into teaching, research, campus operations, and community engagement. Through a structured governance framework and a dedicated team of sustainability professionals, the Office works to ensure that sustainability is not only a strategic priority but also a measurable and impactful practice embedded within the University’s daily operations and long-term vision.

Purpose
